It Happened At Daycare

by Christine@TheAums on December 16, 2010 · 19 comments

I fell in love with my husband.  It happened at daycare.  We weren’t little kids who attended the same one, but rather, kid-at-heart adults who worked at the same one. How many women get to see the future father of their children in action the way I did?!

I noticed how adored he was by all the kids and yes, some moms too, mostly single.

I saw him be a fun and compassionate caregiver to so many little ones, sharing hugs and laughs, and sometimes, just his quiet presence.

I watched him cook a daily feast, plus two snacks, for 30-40 hungry tots, and then wash everyone’s dishes.

I marveled at how often and easily he could mesmerize a large group of wild things as he told stories under a tree.

I melted when he rescued the class pets during a fire drill.

I looked forward to working everyday.

We were good friends.  We loved kids.

And a decade later…

We are best friends.  We love our four kids.  We love each other.

Out of all the blogs in this section-this is really my favorite. That is such a sweet story-love it.
He is certainly one of the greatest and most patient dads I know.

Thank you for such an engaging blogoversary celebration! Also, I can’t believe you and Alison have only been blogging for 1 year…such pros you two! I actually met my husband at a luau I was performing at (another story in itself!) but it was being co-workers and friends that sealed the deal :)
