The final clip of this discipline series is really the heart of the matter for me. Despite my best efforts, there are definitely days where I simply fail at being a good mom. I usually feel at my guiltiest when I’m lying in bed, thinking how I could’ve handled everything differently, with more love, patience, and humor. Janis Keyser gave me a much-needed reminder that perfect parenting is not the goal. Kids need to see that we make mistakes, too, and how we deal with our mistakes is a much more valuable experience than unrealistic perfection. The time that I spent with Janis was so eye-opening and comforting…I want to thank her again for sharing her wisdom with us!
