Un-meme: Ups and Downs

by Christine@TheAums on January 13, 2012 · 6 comments

Here I am, thankful once again for the whole idea behind the Un-meme. Read my post What Else Is Going On In Your Life Besides Blogging? to learn more.

Did you have intentions of blogging this week but it slipped by you…again? No worries, let us know what you did instead or what you still have left to do before you can settle into writing?

Last week, Brandi from Mama Knows It All and Ashlea from This Mamas Dance linked up and believe me, they had every reason to! For some reason I find it very comforting to read what’s on other mama’s plates.

I had some ups and downs this week, which were mostly internal. I did a little bit of everything…emphasis on the little. Homeschooling, tutoring, exercising, reading, writing, cooking, tweeting, face booking…but I didn’t do enough of anything to feel really good about it. The whole time I was thinking: Maybe I’m not cut out for blogging, or homeschooling, or (fill in the blank).

Anyway, those were the downs. The ups included planning a series of posts for next week, spending some quality time with my kids speaking Spanish, oh, and how’s this for an up: A New York Times best-selling author contacted me asking for permission to use one of my tweets in an upcoming novel!!! I’ve never felt compelled to squee before, but this one deserves a SQUEEEEEE! Maybe I should just stick to twitter. Obviously, I can handle writing 140 characters or less :)

So, what else is going on in your life besides blogging? My guilt-free link up is below!

You nailed it as usual! Thanks for always writing about exactly what I’m struggling with!

I cannot wait to see your tweet published.
This might just be the strangest thing I ever said in a comment… Oh well!

Me neither! Of course my tweet getting published is not written in stone yet.
Strangest reply ever!

Permission to re-tweet a tweet, IN PRINT? Crazy. Aren’t tweets meant to be ephemeral, like clean laundry or a tidy living room? What a great and soooo twenty-first century request. Can you tell us the novelist or the novel or the tweet? Somehow your non-blogging sounds much more productive than my non-blogging…but I’m so glad to know that others aren’t blogging, too.

Let me just say that it had to do with dry shampoo. I claimed bragging rights, so if it’s published, my readers will be the first to know!
